Honestly I have come to the opposite conclusion. If someone harms me I assume malice. I'm right more often than not.

I want to caution, here. I was speaking of governments, not individual people, where that can hold true, but not necessarily is true. Certainly in societies that set the system to a zero sum game, it's more likely to be true, but there are still really good people in the world. And we just can't know without some risk, and people still err. It's the human condition. Discernment is cultivated.

If you have no money and a "public defender" you can tell them where evidence proving you're innocent is. They won't go look. That isn't their job. That isn't anyone's job to do for you, as the accused. Unless you have the money to pay people to do it.

as a Canadian I can tell you first hand that our police, justice system, etc are an absolute joke here.
