Per title. We knew it was coming some day, tho perhaps not this soon. Will you be upset if you need ugly adapter to make your extensive + expensive watchband collection work?

I spent most of my time with the original AW using a 42mm band on a 38mm watch...So I ain't scared!

I own one band for my series 5, and one for my ultra. I literally couldn't care less.

100%. I have so many bands including the original “Diamond-like” carbon coated black band that I love dearly. Feels like they made the band connectors smart enough to evolve into a new form factor.

Don’t care, never bought any expensive ones

Good strategy!

Oh no, I won’t be able to use an $8 strap I bought in 2019! How will I ever financially recover from this??

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Cute! You are much more wise than I am! But, I’m in *recovery * now for my Apple addiction.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Not really. The Ultra was my first AW and I only bought one extra watchband for it. My plan is to keep this watch for as long as possible so the bands will be beat up after those years anyways

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Thx!!Great purchase and strategy!!

IF they make smart bands that change color when your heart rate is high or flashes when you've got a notification or, even better, add sensors to the band to improve sleep detection, etc., then I'd be fine with it.

If they just change the band for its own sake to be greedy and force people to buy new bands then I'd be upset.

Thanks!! Nurse here. I LOVE idea of band with built-in health features. As long as it’s not chunky + cheap-looking (tho terrific for its time) like my 2014 Samsung Gear S2 on Verizon.

I really don’t get why people worry so much about things out of their control (sounds easy but I struggle with it all the time). Live in the present, plan for the future and get things when you need them. Wish you a happy day! Take care! ;)

Thanks for the reminder. Working on it! Good luck on your path too!

Would be a bit frustrating since I just jumped in on an s9 with steel link band and also grabbed a nomad leather band. Part of how I justified the cost of the link band especially was that I'll be able to use it across multiple generations... so, here's hoping it doesn't change!

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Never, ever presume Apple will make it EZ for us! Btw .. I love those leather bands.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

I have only owned one band

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Good strategy!

as long as the “new” connection is as securely connected to the watch … whatever after 10 years its time to squeeze the customerbase more 🤣

If they make it round I won’t be upset, I’ve always preferred round watches.

Good to know you’re ok with it!

Brother I think you have a band problem… nobody cares about this more than you do

i think apple switching to magnetic watch bands is highly unlikely. The current system works flawlessly & the bands are secure and solid yet easily removable. Personally don’t feel a redesign is necessary but if the X really is going to bring an all new design like some people think than i wouldn’t be surprised if they switch the way the bands work as the new design may not support current design

I wish they’d make a watch that has traditional lugs

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Oooh .. sounds good!

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Did you know that they make adapters that give your watch traditional lugs?

No, because I don‘t need to buy the newest Tech every year. And IF there is a new system, but I don‘t like it…. Why do I need to upgrade? Or probably with how slow Technology is evolving nowadays it be more of a sidegrade than an upgrade

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Should I have a collection? I don’t. Just the band that came with the watch.

the past and current selection of original watch bands by apple is trash. i don’t understand why people pay the apple tax for it. i have a few modern buckles i got at discount and they aged so bad. i wear the nylon sport loop 100% of the time because of micro-adjustment ability

I will but only because apple will gladly sell me a buck worth of « genuine apple adapter » for 49.99

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Was mentioned 4 the 9 and AW2… nothing happened… 💁🏼‍♂️

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Exactly! Ya know how accurate the predictions always are!!

I will be as upset as I am about the extensive collection of lightning accessories I can't use with my new iPhone
