There’s a lot of room for improvement but you don’t expect Apple to release it in just one iteration of iOS? I mean, they really could…but…

Lets start with moving icons anywhere I would like on the screen.

Repairability without software locks and stupid crap like that. There’s no logical reason to disable FaceID when you replace the screen which has literally no parts of FaceID connected to it. Same goes for battery, truetone, cameras and so on ……

Everyone here sounds like they have fallen for the Apple eco system and haven't bothered to look at what Android has to offer from other all the phones available. Everything here is doable on other phones

  • get rid of the notch. Proper under display camera system
  • bring fingerprint back for 2-factor biometrics. Also under display
  • faster charging both wired and wireless
  • longer battery life
  • fast data transfer across the board, not just the pro phones
  • bring 3D Touch back

They are probably racing to introduce GenAI powered Siri, that would be a game changer.

improve cooling and faster charging time

The screen will get brighter with a higher resolution and refresh rate when a better replacement to lithium-ion batteries will came out, For example, if we had better batteries, then it should be possible for a 360hz 4K 4000nits screen, and also under-screen camera, better glass(sapphire), better cpu…

Better WIFI hotspotting because right now you can’t leave the settings screen until a non iOS device has connected.

Since the Home Screen is getting shortcuts and widgets now I’d like to also be able to individualize a lot more about it. Starting with changing or hiding the name/text of apps, being able to put them anywhere (empty spots in the middle) but also things like creating widgets in a similar way to creating shortcuts (rather than pressing and getting a pop up just show the info live).

Then I’d also like more control about what’s being shown in context Menues. There is a lot of clutter for example when sharing something. I dislike having options I’m not using at all.

But it’s already going into a great direction. I used to love the simplicity of not being able to individualize much but lately have gotten into it quite a bit. It helps me stay organized.

Oof there is so much to improve. Desktop mode, background downloads, icon placement, pen support, revamp of notifications, work profiles

Such a powerful processor wasted

Personally hardware wise it’s pretty good. I would just say faster charging. Reverse wireless charging that works with watch or AirPods etc.

But iOS is where things can really improve. It’s honestly not that great. More form over function

Dreaming here, I’d really like to see an iPhone fold.. iPhone on top, iPad mini on the inside

I want Apple Pencil support. Then I'll be happy.

It’s a hard question to answer because you just don’t know where technology might go next. A couple decades ago, you might have asked how much better flip phones can get, and here we are today…

Personally, one of my dreams is a phone that I can stretch to become bigger if I need the screen size, and then I can just squish/fold/whatever it back down to fit in my pocket. Maybe through some magic, we’ll get full frame camera sensors in phones? Long-distance wireless charging? And of course there’s silicon improvements—it would be pretty cool to have the equivalent of a i9 14900k and a 4090 in your pocket.

Uh, a more robust file management system, separate volume controls for various uses (media, calls, alarm, etc), more cohesive Notifications, and faster Charging speeds. I’m sure there’s more but that’s just off the top of my head.

Base iPhones at 6’3 display

A universal back gesture doesn’t make any sense. Windows Phone had a dedicated back button. Which was a mistake. There are many situations where there isn’t a logical “back”. It should only be available when it makes sense.

Something like routines from Samsung

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Two apps side by side. A back button. A close all apps button or option.

I just switched from a Samsung s9+ to the iPhone 15 pro max. It’s only been a week. Love the phone but those 3 features are really missed right now

Only your imagination could limit how good it could get. There are always advances in technology. Eventually come become a personal transporter device. 🖖🏼

Solid state batteries ( better longevity, better handle on extreme low or high temperatures, 2.5x the energy per square, so the battery can be smaller with larger autonomy then the current ones ).

Notch / Dynamic Island hardware also needs to go under the screen.

There’s a lot to improve :)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I think they should improve their hardware. Fingerprints stains are quite an issue.

More better. You’re welcome.
