Extremely, I don't even waste time complaining about things (usually, lol) that can't be changed because that's time I could spend enjoying other parts of life! I have clothes mostly just so I'm not naked outside, and I've only actually put any thought into it when it comes to my work clothes (I kinda miss the days I could wear the same thing every day because I was in the army and it was mandatory, why don't we have uniforms as civilians?!). I don't even argue with people IRL: I say something as nicely as possible to allow the person to accept what I'm saying, and if they don't seem to get it I just state things plainly ("this is what I'm gonna do, this is what you can or cannot do regarding this, this is what I can offer to compensate if it makes you feel better, and such is life"). I only have, uhh, friendly and purely intellectual arguments with my fellow lemmings! 😅

As a married man to a very girly girl, this makes me basically an alien to my wife, being on the opposite end of this (and other) spectrums. She often jokes that she "found" me in the woods or "rescued" me, and since I often wear things until the holes are larger than the fabric and drink water straight from the tap no glass, she might have a point! She's also the only one who I actually argue with, for obvious reasons. 😬

I like to think I'm generally pragmatic, but we all have our weaknesses.

I think the value in being pragmatic is being able to pick apart the nuance of a situation. Especially ones that you are personally involved in.

It's not easy to realize how you contributed to your own negative situation, and I have the greatest respect for people who can admit that they were wrong.

I think I'm generally pragmatic; it has been a benefit in my career.

I value pragmatism since it means that actual change that benefits people can be implemented over holding out for a perfection that may never come. That said, I'm willing to tolerate some tradeoffs because I will evaluate change against the system functioning as is and some people don't like it if they don't like the dysfunctional part but the cost of correcting it is worse.

I am exactly pragmatic enough to know that I am not truly pragmatic.

For personal, trivial things when I have something I like I will keep it that way until it falls apart or becomes ridiculously outmoded. I do not pretend there is logic to them.

I tend to like the simplest things for daily use objects but that’s not “pragmatism,” it’s preference. Even when something nicer is available, lol. I waited until my phone was freezing when opening a calculator AND it would no longer charge to upgrade it, even though it was likely justified a year and a half before that.

I'm a pragmatic idealist. I want things to be better, and I fight for them to be better, but also I live in the real world, not the world I want to see built.
