[–] RedWizard@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago (4 children) wait they made ANOTHER season? I couldn't really get through the last new season. permalink fedilink source hideshow 8 child comments replies: [–] dead@hexbear.net [S] 8 points 1 month ago* (1 child) Why not? I think that the Season 14 is consistent to the qualities of the original show. There were some parts that I did not like. The weakest character was probably Bill. However, I enjoyed watching the season overall. The political commentary of Season 14 was relevant to current times. spoileras example the manosphere episode. The theme of the episode was that better parenting would stop teens from following Andrew Tate. I think that is true to Hank Hill's character, believing that systemic misogyny would be solved by 'family values' or chivalry. Hank is a right winger, but an altruist. He wants to help people, but his framework is wrong. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] EmmaGoldman@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago* Yeah, I'm in agreement. It felt mostly consistent with the original seasons, but Bill was too flanderized. I'm betting Stephen Root wanted to go a little hard in the paint because he loves being a goofball and he'd been doing a ton of more serious/villainous roles prior to recording. Wouldn't want my dude to get typecast as Monroe Fuches or Martin Mertens types for the rest of time even though he's incredible at it. permalink fedilink source parent [–] LeeeroooyJeeenkiiins@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago* The last season was a good continuation though the only problem with it is Bobby is a moron who picked the wrong love interest permalink fedilink source parent [–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago huh i liked the last one overall, they could've just not made the weaker episode but even those made sense with hank being hank permalink fedilink source parent [–] No_Bark@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 month ago Last season was a good season of King of the Hill though? (Reboot notwithstanding) I was ready to be a hater since KOTH is one of my all time faves, and outside of a few things already mentioned in this thread, season 14 was very consistent with the tone/style of previous seasons. It was closer to the later seasons rather than earlier KOTH, but even the less good later seasons are still good. permalink fedilink source parent
