I don't get why posts involving trans men get downvoted. They are victims of discrimination and hatred too.
Sadly, you do know why. Some people are cunts.
I left the US in 2002, shortly after Dubya shat out the USA Patriot Act: I knew right there and then that the US had veered hard right towards ultra-fascism, with no hope of turning back.
Al Qaeda has won: they successfully initiated the self-destruction of America on 9/11, and now America is on the verge of taking the rest of the world down with it.
I live in California. In a city. I have a few gay friends and a trans friend.
Regular verbal harrassment. Verbal threats of violence. One of them had a guy drive by, shout F*GGOT, and throw a glass bottle into his head. Required stitches.
This is in a blue area in the bluest state.
So yeah, this is one hell of a bigoted nation. And we're currently moving backwards, not forwards. So yeah, I can totally see getting the fuck out.
Shit, I'm cisgender and just queer, and I've been standing on the corner waiting for the crosswalk and have had people drive by and yell "faggot" at me even when I am not wearing anything that screams "gay." Like... How do they even know?
To both of you hope you both live well and enjoy life along with your friends. Keep strapped and be prepared for anything too.
Come to Canada! We do have some anti Trans asshats, but most of us dont care what's in your pants!
I'd love to, but: I am in talks right now setting up some music stuff for the next few years. I'd like to fight for my home a little bit longer first. I want to make some music to recharge the people fighting the bigger, actually important fights.
Good on you!
