15PM, excellent overall

Overall great, Coming from a 13 PM, My only complaint so far is that I miss the physical sim slot, and that the usb-c didn’t meet my all my expectation, lots of power draw issues from using most external ssd’s(although a dongle will fix it) , had to return my sandisk extreme pro (although the non-pro’s work fine)
First time to own a PM version and while i enjoy the huge screen its too big for me especially when i put it inside my pocket, now i share the sentiments of people saying the PM is a bit uncomfortable.
The titanium build is ok i guess but to be honest it does not look as premium as the previous ones with the stainless steel. The phone feels fragile for some reason.
The camera is pretty great especially outdoors.
With the issues i haven’t really encountered any so far and i hope it stays that way.
Overall the phone’s performance is great. Aesthetic side i just prefer the stainless steel because its more premium looking and the feel is just solid.
15 pro max - no issues whatsoever.
Phone feels fantastic.
Just over a month with 15 pro max. No problems. Good battery life. Wishing it was a little larger. I think it will take great photos but need to play around with it more.
So far amazing, i went for 15 plus black and this is the first time i moved to plus side now m not getting back
Overheating but now it just overheats with charging
Just the freaking keyboard lagging here and there. Can’t take this shit anymore lol
Awesome
15PM here. Absolutely fantastic phone. Battery lasts me two days with spare change (average user - casual gaming, music, commuting, reddit/internet, daily life/household apps). The powerful camera has been a huge boon to my work in marketing. Builds up some heat when shooting long, multiple videos in 4K, but otherwise no heat issues.
Just great with titanium 15 pro max…. From a 12 PM
I’ve had 15pm since Oct 14. Great phone overall. No overheating, no burn ins, etc. My only issue is with the apple braided usb c cable. It wiggles when it’s plugged in and causes random charging disconnections. It’s annoying. My other usb c cables dont behave like this. I chose natural titanium coz i think it’s pretty 🩶
Came up from an 11 pro to 15 pro max. Love the size and feel but there’s been a few times where the cameras weren’t behaving like I would expect. Perhaps user error, but just trying to answer your question to the best of my ability
Sent from iPhone 15 pro max
I’ve got one on lunch day. It’s been overhyped. I have not used usbc at all. It’s barely better than my old XS Max and I miss 3D Touch.
My favourite thing about it is MagSafe but that has been a thing for a while.
Heats up during calls and charging
No issues at all here with a 15 Pro Max. Been about a month.
Came from a 14 Pro, after having a 11 Pro Max. Missed the bigger screen and decided to trade in the 14 Pro for the 15 Max.
Best decision ever. Battery life is great and I can actually type again. Small screen typing stinks. Never got used to it.
I’m on 15 Pro. The battery life is average at best. By noon I’m would be left at 40-50% with average. One thing I found surprised in a bad way is the camera continuity that I use for meeting on my Mac. Coming from the iphone 11 Pro Max, the battery drain on my 15 Pro is insane while using this feature, which was not a problem at all with my four year one 11 pro max.
15 Pro and every single picture I take comes out blurry. Anybody know what that could be? Is there some setting I’m missing?
So far I’d say I’m enjoying the awesome experience with the quality of photos captured, audio quality, build, high frame rate, etc. The battery 🔋 is phenomenal. This is my opinion so far.
I have no issues with the phone itself, and the battery has been great, but honestly coming from the 12 Pro Max I thought I’d feel a bigger difference and I don’t. The camera at night is better but that’s the biggest difference I’ve noticed. My eyes can’t discern the great refresh rate
15 Pro. Huge upgrade over my three year old SE. I don’t have to charge at all during the day and apps don’t freeze and crash continuously. It’s a great quality of use improvement for me. I plan to hold onto this one as long as I can.
Love it:
Pros:
- Camera is getting better with software updates.
- Much faster.
- Action button has LITERALLY changed my life.
- WiFi and Ethernet speeds are MUCH better than ip14pm.
Cons:
- Battery life is okay, I don’t notice much difference tbh.
- Still a weird delay/glitching. Phone will be on and display goes dim, when I press screen to avoid sleeping, it takes 3-5 seconds before it wakes again.
Overall a great experience!👍🏼
15 pro. Works perfectly. Nice upgrade from my 12 pro.
Brilliant. No issues at all.
Love my iPhone 15 pro max
Glad I can get 16hrs out of one charge atleast
Massive upgrade from my iPhone 12 Pro Max
I previously ranted about how my screen was so yellow compared to other (non-OLED) Apple devices. The yellowish tint seemed to improve over a couple of weeks, and my eyes are now accustomed to the remaining yellowish tint. When I view the screen outside (i.e., in natural light), the colors are incredibly accurate. I'm still annoyed by small things, like the lack of palm gestures in the camera app, the unreliable back tap, and the subpar spellcheck suggestions in its keyboard, but I'm getting used to it.
I went from iPhone X to iPhone 15 Pro, my experience so far is just really good, I’m enjoying it a lot, just had a couple of crash app but nothing major, and I hope the battery will not deteriorate easily.
Coming from the 12 mini it's significant. I love it one second and the other I want to toss it in the road but only because I live in android PC world. I know. I'm a poor person and can't afford nice things like you rich people. I'm not worthy.
Coming from Android for the past decade or so. Picked up a 15 Pro Max. My experiences are mixed.
Firstly. The keyboard is just so far behind android it's ridiculous. It's even behind iPad which is what I don't understand. I have had an iPad for a while now and the biggest issues I have with the iPhone keyboard aren't on my iPad. The numbers and punctuation is easily accessible from the main keyboard screen.
Other issue I have is the camera. The pictures and video look absolutely amazing. But my camera app keeps crashing when I record 4k60 within the first minute or so. Not sure if it's overheating or what. But I expect things to work better than that on iOS. Never had that sort of issue on my Android. Though my previous phone didn't record 4k60. But the top of the line iPhone and it is buggy on something as basic as camera usage? Hoping that shit gets fixed ASAP.
I picked it up for its gaming capabilities though and holy shit is the Pro Max and impressive device for that. Resident Evil 8 looks absolutely incredible. Can tweak the graphics on it like a PC. Maxed it out... it ran well but then crashed. So I went back to presets and it ran flawlessly and still looked great. Bit mind blown a phone can do this. It has options for 30, 60 and 120fps ffs. It's ridiculous.
Also picked up Wreckfest for $1.50 on the AppStore. Loaded it up, thought it looked kinda ok. Then found out that it had graphics settings too. Maxed everything I could and it looked unbelievable aswell. Silky smooth, sharp graphics, amazing lighting etc.
Also CarPlay is a mixed bag. I kind of like what works better than Android Auto. The maps in Waze look slightly better, and music screen looks slightly nicer. It's barely a difference. But for whatever reason it doesn't integrate with Facebook Messenger like android auto did and most my conversations are in Facebook Messenger. But aside from that it's pretty awesome for CarPlay.
One thing I wish I could do on both Android Auto and CarPlay is use apps like Netflix, or stream my games to the screen while parked. My CarScreen is pretty big and playing RE8 on it would be awesome while waiting at school pick up. Or an episode of whatever on Netflix. I couldnt find anything that seemed like it would work for me with the built in system my car has.
But i would say it's 90% positive for me. Want the camera fixed hopefully soon. Don't expect anything to fix the keyboard since if it was ever happening it would have by now. The few alternate options on the app store didn't really seem to integrate well for me to like the experience. But the primary reason I wanted to switch absolutely exceeded my expectations. Really hoping we get a lot more console/PC level games on iOS.
We have the same issues regarding the keyboard. I’m a tech guy, so I need to regularly type symbols in the chat. I also need to SSH into a machine to fix stuff and the lack of a keyboard that’s geared towards tech persons is a pain. AFAIK, there’s no good alternative for the Hacker’s Keyboard in iOS.
Got the 15PM and it's also my first iphone ever. The overall experience is good as hell but there are just two things that I dislike from iOS: the keyboard is so bad compared to android and I don't think it's ok to have so many different gestures to go back, it changes in lots of apps and situations and I would be easier if it was just swiping right. I guess I will get use to both thigs tho.
The phone itself is incredible, the camera, the battery life, the speed, the ram management, the design, the screen, the shortcuts, the ergonomy... You can't help it but love it!
iPhone 15 Pro Max (512gb) - Basically a better experience overall coming from an iPhone 11 (non pro).
THINGS I LIKE
✅The display is amazing and the 120hz is very noticeable.
✅Can handle all games with virtually no lag and handles heat very well.
✅Bigger screen is a welcome change since I am a big guy and consume lots of content.
✅The camera on my iPhone 11 is already amazing; this one takes it into a whole nother level.
✅The speakers are great. Music sounds full and crisp.
THINGS I DON’T LIKE
❌Nothing; it’s basically a significantly better experience in all aspects from an iPhone 11
❌Probably the steep price but Apple is Apple and as an iSheep, I can’t complain.
RECOMMENDATIONS: ☑️ If you have a 12 series iPhone or older, upgrading to the 15 series is worth it (UPGRADES + USBC)
☑️ If you’re thinking of getting a 14 series now, I would suggest you just wait for the 15 to drop in price. The lightning port will become obsolete and you might find difficulty in getting new lightning cables a few years from now (i think)
I’ve come from a pixel 6 to 15 pro having not had an iPhone for years. Lots of wow factor for me especially the hardware (combined with the ultra watch and how they walk to each other - huge upgrade from the pixel phone/watch)
Do miss a fair bit from the android software though I can’t lie, even tho iOS is great in different ways
15pro is amazing, camera is unbelievable coming from a 12pro. looks and feels great without a case but i think it’s more comfortable to type with one
I’ve had zero heating issues . So far it’s been fantastic. Coming from a 11 Pro Max , I didn’t realise how beautiful pro motion looks and how snappy Face ID & the phone is in general. Can’t wait to further test the cameras
Battery always empty
I had the 14PM and bought the 15PM with the intention to return.
I probably won't recommend those with 12, 13 or 14 to upgrade.
USB-C for file transfer: This is great for those who transfer huge video files. If you don't shoot Prores, the slow AirDrop transfer still works alright.
USB-C for video recording: You can now attach a USB-C mic, when when playback to check, audio will output from speakers. Previous with lightning to 3.5mm, you have to plug out the cable to hear audio from speaker. Huge utility improvement for video recorders.
ACTION button: It's just a shortcut button. What's the big deal?
5X camera: Image quality seems similar to 3X. If you've always wish for a 5X zoom while using your phone, go for it. I find 3X which is easier to control. Action mode can be enabled during video recording for extra zoom in. 5x is not a better focal length than 3x. Saying 5x is better is like saying 2x is better than 1x, and 1x is better than 0.5x.
2x cinematic mode: This addition to the usual 1x cinematic mode is really useful for video. There's no cinematic mode with 3X so even a 2X is extremely welcome.
Dynamic island: It's a useless gimmick that exists only to let Android users know you have an iPhone.
Battery life: For video recording when screen is max brightness outdoors, phone can last maybe one morning. Charging or battery pack is needed for morning and afternoon recording. For iPhone 15 Pro which has smaller battery capacity, you can just add a portable battery. Charge the phone while having lunch.
Display dimming: I record video with 4K 25FPS on a cloudy day (30 degrees celsius) and there were times the phone will overheat and dim the display, make it impossible to see if you are recording at the correct exposure. This is the same problem with iPhone 12PM, and the reason why I upgraded to 14PM is so that I won't have display dimming problem. Display dimming with a hot phone is back with 15PM sad to say.
Speakers: Audio is good. Many people say it sounds better than 14PM. Maybe. Unless you have other iphones to compare, you probably can't tell.
--
Conclusion: iPhone 15PM is an incredible phone, but it's only worth upgrading to (in my opinion) if you're using iPhone 11 or older.
I will be returning mine without missing it. Two main issues are the display dimming when hot and 3x is sufficient for me for the type of videos I make.
The only time my phone was hot was when I shot a video in 38C weather. 15 Pro Max.
Very happy with it in general. Super light and fast although I feel like the battery could’ve been better. I’ve set an 80% limit and with a moderate/heavy use, it’s only lasts me about 6 hours.
My wife got a 15 pro max and I still have an 11 pro max. My 11 just got a fresh battery so they’re both at optimum performance.
She hasn’t complained about any issues. It just works.
Camera is miles better than the 11 pro max. Especially in low light, the zoom lens is great, pictures crisper, and the seamless transition between lenses in zoom is amazing. So is the auto portrait mode or the fact that you can change focus in post.
Speakers marginally better
Screen better in some areas (120hz, higher brightness outdoors). But on par with mine indoors viewing youtube or hdr content. There is a slight difference in color temperature. Not sure which device is more accurate. Consider mine has 4 years of wear and tear.
Battery life is on par. This is a let down for me.
Unless it’s opening a heavy game or app, there’s barely a difference in speed at which the os operates. Apps sometimes load faster on mine, sometimes on the 15. The 4gb ram on the 11 does make it reload websites more often though.
I hate the dynamic island. Literally see no point in it. It takes up more space than the notch as it’s pushed further down. There’s literally always a piece of it visible when viewing videos. The notch isn’t the best either but at least it was out of the way when watching videos.
15Pro Max from 13Pro and I am loving it. From the start it's felt like an upgrade.
Like other said camera is incredible, battery life is great and the overall experience of the phone is top notch.
Launch Day 15 Pro here…
I have been utterly impressed with this phone. It’s been an absolute workhorse for my day to day life. I previously came from an iPhone 13 mini and the phone feels “just right”.
Yes, my phone overheated a lot for the first few weeks when using it for simple things. Apple did quickly address these issues with iOS 17.0.3.
The 120hz screen has been a joy. Apple iOS makes a 60hz panel look really smooth but I was pleased with how good this panel is.
The camera has probably been my favorite thing about it this phone. I work in aviation and LOVE to take photos. I have a Canon DSLR camera that I typically use for my airplane photography. This phone has replaced my DSLR on planes that are within 77m (3X lens) distance. Now, it will never fully replace my DSLR due to the fact I’m taking pictures of planes up to a 650mm length. The iPhone camera is good, but not that good haha!
The only negative feedback I have is the battery. I opted for 6.1 because I value the 3X lens more than 5X zoom and prefer the form factor. Now don’t get me wrong, the phone last me a full workday. If I go out and start taking a bunch of photos/videos, it kills the battery pretty quick. Look, I get the camera drains the battery pretty significantly but still. I’m always by a charger so I can top off when needed but I still wish apple have this thing a little more juice!
Sorry if there’s any typos. It’s 5am and I’m tired lol
I’m happy with my 15PM. The 120hz and brighter screen have been my favorite upgrade. Great purchase!
İ phone 15 pro Max here. Kinda did not like it. I switched it from red mi note 10 pro and it feels. Odd. Just odd. Not better not worse. İ think I kinda expected better from 15 pro Max
Coming from an XS everything is awesome. Except the price. The one problem I had was my wireless charger not working with the new phone due to the size of the cameras.
iPhone 12 to 15 pro. Mostly just loving battery life, don’t particularly care about the camera. I keep my phone in a sturdy case so don’t notice a change in the feel. Slightly more snappy and excellent battery life
Launch day 15 PM. Love the 5x zoom and using it way more often than I thought I would.
13pm to 15pm. It’s not really much of a significant upgrade.
Coming from a 12 pro max the ProMotion, Dynamic Island and cameras are a good upgrade
