Big mouth this kid!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Be one of the best players in your position regardless of age. He may be the best 17 year old Swedish midfielder but that doesn't mean he can compete with 25 year olds

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

It's Sweden's NT, not England's.

Our squad kind of sucks and we're already out of contention

Not new to see this kind of arrogance in Fck players

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Bro will be playing in the german third division in 5 years with this attitude lol

What scoring 1 goal in the ucl does to a mf

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Hes also their top scorer this season + scored the goal that actually took them to CL

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Great Sweden’s got another Zlatan on their hands with a God complex

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Just for some context for fans not following Swedish football and media.

There has been a lot of criticism against Jane the last couple of years from a lot of different persons regarding the old squad he uses.

This isn’t the first time young talents don’t get a chance. Many that have dual passports have chosen other countries teams to play for

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

This is exactly what happened with the danish team under Morten Olsen. Huge talent like Fischer and Andreas Christensen never got picked.

I don’t miss that man.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

MO did include Christian Eriksen pretty early in his career but I guess his talent was undeniable. Then of course used him to sit deep and play a million lateral passes.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Andreas Christensen is too young to be even considered for Olsen..he started playing senior football in autumn 2015. Same time Olsen had his final qualification matches

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

many of the dual passports have chosen other countries to play for

That’s when you get a new coach for sure

The critique against Janne has made it sound very unique, but it seems to be happening with most Swedish managers at the later half of their run with the national team. They have their favorites and youngsters are usually let into the team very carefully.

Usually it goes like this:

A new manager is appointed and gets praise for giving new players and youngsters a chance. Later on, the manager has found his core group. If he is successful, he will get praise, but when the results start to dwindle, people will start to ask for new players/youngsters to get chance. The manager has his group though and is trusting that his group will turn it around and if he adds new players to the group, it's done very carefully.

If the turnaround doesn't happen and he gets fired, a new manager is appointed. The new manager gets praise for giving new players and youngsters a chance and so on...

That’s FM legend Rooney Bardghji to you.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'm not a fan of the 'confidence' but the guy probably deserves a call up.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He's not being picked because our gaffer is an absolute joke and a failure. He's got a long history of doing the absolutely worst thing at every possible turn, hopefully he will (FINALLY!) be gone soon.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Janne should have been in a retirement home in Uppsala 3 years ago but here we are lol.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, it's bizarre how long he's managed to stick around. Looks like he's finally going away now though, although much too late. Maybe we can finally go back to dunking on Denmark, this current state of affairs is both unnatural and unholy.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

While I agree that it is the right time to move forward and let Janne go, surely getting to the quarterfinals of a world cup buys you a lot of confidence. When do you think will be the next time a Swedish NT manages to do that? I doubt that it will be within the next 20 years myself.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

the swedish media hates Janne so they desperately drag these answers out of players. This is nothing to read into at all

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not to jolly engage in Manager bashing but maybe they have their reasons? Some dude said a lot of the younger guys who have parents from different nationalities have given up waiting to play for their homeland bcz this dude kinda just sticks to the same old players. The boys give up on being called and accept the call up for a different country. If I was Swedish I would be fuming at Janne over this lol. I mean, it happened in Brazil like once with Diego Costa choosing Spain and it became a national crisis lol.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

2 people have and one of them is very average. But I disagree nonetheless. Players shouldn’t be picked just to be locked in.

Move to a bigger club?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

bro scored a goal against a shitty united and thinks he is a teenage zlatan

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

At this point in Ibra's career (the year he turned 18), he was having his first senior season and scored once in 6 games, in Allsvenskan.

Roony is currently at 7 in 14 in Superligaen.

The year Zlatan turned 19, he bagged 12 in 26.

Current status is very (very) far from a sure indicator of future success, but teenage Roony is already clearly better than teenage Zlatan.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What more can a 17-year-old do to get called up?

Grow and mature as a player (and as a person too it seems). You're not guaranteed a national selection for being really good for a 17-year-old.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Not like Sweden is some powerhouse football nation with talent growing out of their ears, especially creative ones

The fact that the kid is really good at 17 is why he's pissed that Sweden still hasnt picked him, especially since its dead rubber games with Sweden already being eliminated anyway

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Genuinely have never heard of him, is he actually good enough to play for Sweden at 17 (now 18)?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Yes. The Swedish national team is comically bad.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Haters say cocky and entitled. I would say self-belief.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Imagine if he was Dutch lol

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I'll assume the answer is have a good manager

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Gotta up your game, young man, everyone needs to have dirty clothes of the manager, or being engaged to the manager's daughter

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

being some years older, I suppose?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

He has too many vowels in his name. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Play for America 🇺🇸 🦅🔥❤️

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

United have fallen in love with him now

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I do enjoy all the non-swedish people in here calling him cocky and arrogant from one out of context quote, where they havent even been keeping up with the story.

r/soccer for you

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I think this is mostly a case of his teammates publicly stating that's its insane that he doesn't get called up, and swedish media asking him about getting called up everytime it doesn't happen.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Kuwait FA should try to get him. Born in the city of Kuwait from Syrian parents, well can play for Syria too.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I thought he was from Iraq

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

What Janne said was that Roony hasn’t played many 90 minutes matches and that is also part of why he wasn’t chosen. But I guess that goes against your narrative?

Andersson menar att Bardghji får mycket speltid, men för få 90-minutare.

“Värderingen och bedömningen jämfört med de andra så tycker jag inte riktigt han är där än, men jag är övertygad om att han kommer dit”

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Have they never played FM or FIFA career mode? His potential is mad. Swedish FA should hire me smh

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Isak struggled to get called up and get minutes once he did, Sweden is not really very open to giving young players chances.

They do love their "legends" so it will take a bit until they trust him, but I can see him getting a call up for next international break if he puts this up.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Sto playing Minecraft and focus on strategy games. They'll tell you it's a dying genre BUT YOU HOLD THE POSITION!!!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

"What more can a 17 year old do to get called up?"

Not have Janne as manager.

Or if you do, be like 35 and be injured 80% of the year in a italian low tier team

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

well not give this interview which reflects very poorly on you for starters
