I hate to be negative or mean, but this makes absolutely no sense.

It's from a Doctor Who episode where the TARDIS consciousness is placed into a body.

The Gaiman one? Big swing and a miss on that episode; it’s rough.

On a scale of Data to Okona how high are you?

But also, it's a Doctor Who reference.

Having rewatched this episode again recently, I'm finding it a bit uncomfortable that the only reason Yar and Data hooked up was because they were insanely drunk on alien molecules.

Which brings up two questions:

  1. Was it morally okay?
  2. How the fuck does an android get drunk, even on alien molecules?!

Data wasn't drunk, he was infected by something that mimicked drunkenness. So the real question is how could a 'polywater infection' affect humans and androids, and the same way in both? Also, Data wasn't 'intoxicated' (for lack of a better word) until after he slept with Yar, making it far more morally questionable. But Roddenberry was a horndog.

It was the first season, and they were trying to reuse a TOS story to fill out the season. Don't think about it too much...just roll with the drunken android sexy times...
