Athena of the power loom, who turns artisans into bugs. Athena, the Queen of Plunder, whose ships carry loot to the Global North. Athena of mass media, who whispers lies into the ears of her victims. Athena, wife of Mammon who feeds him the universe.

Athena, whose namesake city state was an inspiration for Western "democracy"?

Athena was based on the based goddess Inanna/Ishtar, but the Greeks went and made a mockery of her blessed form. Stavros Halkias must pay for this.

    Contrast with based Artemis:

    • goddess of redneck-envy-hunting-skill
    • goddess of the wild, goddess of transitions
    • patron and protector of children, especially girls
    • does not fuck, even at all
    • pretty cool

    🤷‍♂️

does not fuck, even at all

I believe the classical concept of a virgin was just someone who hadn't had penetrative sex with a man. Artemis chilling with a bunch of lady "virgins"... But I don't know a lot about greek mythology, so I am just talking out of my ass.

There's the Greek island of Lesbos, with Lesbian builders, that had a bendable measuring device called a Lesbian Rule for construction. Make of that what you will.

Yeah idk, I wouldn't exactly stand behind my claims here lol, for one I am a dufus (or at least duf-inclined), for another I don't know nearly enough about the topic.

I just recently found out about the combo of "peerless tracker and slayer of beasts + celibate + protector of children" and was looking for an excuse to say "isn't that cool?!" somewhere haha

She is incredibly cool! A friend of mine told me about two myths about her, kind of similar, kind of not.
Both start like this: Artemis and her virgins are bathing in a lake in the forest. Guy is walking in the forest and comes upon them.

Now in the first one he realises there's a bunch of hot babes swimming naked, so he hides and peeps. Artemis busts him and turns him into a deer to be perpetually hunted.

In the second one the guys stumbles upon them by accident and immediately looks away, terribly sorry about the whole thing. He still saw Artemis naked and she's still a greek god so... She gives him an offer: He can be turned into a deer to be hunted forever OR she can trans him and turn him into one of her virgins. He picks the latter.

    Athena, wife of Mammon

I thought Athena was either married to Hephaestus, in virgin goddess territory or both I guess depending on which myth you were reading.

That said she was a goddess of wisdom, craft and war so very much what neoliberals think of themselves as
