But RNA would still be there, right? Definitely not enough to save the day, but at least you would have some borrowed time.

A quick death is preferable. Just ask Hisashi Ouchi, a victim of severe irradiation who was kept alive in agonizing pain for nearly three months as his body decayed around him.

I was thinking about that case too. There was also plenty of cellular damage, which obviously made everything a lot more painful, but probably also faster. If all DNA just vanished, cell replication would stop. I think the zombie phase could last surprisingly long.

yeah but that's not only dna damage.

It only takes DNA damage. If your cells cannot reproduce, you are doomed to die nearly the same way.

No, but there is a lot of photographs about him if you want to go the others way.

On a similar note, when the Covid vaccines were introduced in 2021, Facebook was full of people loudly proclaiming that there was no RNA in their bodies and never would be, because they weren't gonna be "jabbed".

the stupidest thing was how they all interpreted gene therapy to mean that MRNA changes their genes... like... all they had to do was learn the absolutely fucking basics and learn that gene therapy was part of the production of the vaccine.... not some internal biological process triggered by the vaccine... uhg... it's just so unfair that some of us get to be so stupid.

Was there an original static webpage version of this question? I had a quick skim through the archive but I couldn't find one.
