Bullshit. They've been telling me for years I won't be able to fly. Then it happened.

But I'm still able to fly without a real ID I'm just "potentially going through extra screening". I fly twice a month. That extra screening? "You know you need to get a real id, eventually you won't be able to fly without it"

Or they give me a "Scarlett letter" which is a big red piece of paper stating I don't have a real ID and tell me to keep it on me. I've never been asked for it. It's a guilt trip on a slip. They want me to feel outcast. I saw a guy clutching his through security last week and I was like dude just throw it out. It's literally printed by the thousands, it's not official in any way.

I'm sure eventually it'll happen but until it does I'm not renewing my perfectly valid id I paid extra for to not renew as soon as 3 years. Which I got 2 years ago.
