The 3D Printing Subreddit has moved to forums.rhombik.com/c/3d_printing . But I can't seem to find it in kbin's search. There was a previous thread asking a similar question about another migrated sub, but based on the solution there, my best guess was that I should go directly to https://kbin.social/m/[email protected] to subscribe. But that gives me a 404. I've tried the variants with the D and/or the P capitalized, since I gather kbin is picky about that, but no luck. I've also tried it with and without an exclamation point, though I'm pretty sure in this context I'm not supposed to use that.

Anyone know how to do this? Is there any way to make it work?

You'd normally just search "[email protected]" from kbin.social to federate it with this instance but that doesnt seem to be working. There were a lot of lemmy instances with this issue but its becoming less and less as they get patched.

Once its federated to kbin.social your /m/ URL will work.

Thanks for replying. Does that mean it's just a backend thing? There's nothing normal users can do to affect this, it's just going to take time?

No problem. That is correct; there is nothing you can do. A temporary solution would be to make an account on a lemmy instance that they are federating properly with.

A week or two ago there were 10+ instances with this issue and it seems to be down to only a few now so hopefully this won't be an issue for much longer.
