This Flag Means Death is hilarious, and also is shockingly true to what actually happened. The story of this rich man who decided to run away from his wife to become a pirate and was hilariously bad at it and became friends with Blackbeard is absolutely true, and the story is almost entirely faithful to the history of it. It’s just hilarious.
Also VEEP is a hilarious parody of the White House. It’s also not very political one way or the other for being a comedy about politicians.
What we do in the shadows
Highly recommend Barry if you have not seen it. Hitman becomes theatre guy but cant escape being a hitman. Henry Winkler is great in it, but the real show stealer is Anthony Carrigan as NoHo hank, a Chechen gangster who is also Barry's gay friend and just fucking owns so much.
Twin Peaks or The X-Files. I throw either on depending on whether i want to pay attention or just want to have something on in the background.

OK so you can torrent Næturvaktin and its sequels with English subtitles from 1337x.to. You can also find the 1981 Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy miniseries there.
True crime is a no-go but when it comes to fictional crime you can find Furuhata Ninzaburo with English subtitles on the Internet Archive, and An t-Eilean again on 1337x.to. I haven't actually seen An t-Eilean myself but it sounds cool and it's apparently pretty well-liked so I'm mentioning it.

If you like audio dramas I will never not suggest The Magnus Archives. It isn't complete slop as it absolutely does have social commentary but its primary purpose is of course to entertain. Requires your attention but not like all of it.
Critical Role on YouTube. Start with season 2. Hours upon hours upon hours of content. It's just nerdy voice actors playing DnD with incredible production value and story and characters and it's great if you just want something fun to watch

The Pitt. Fantastic hour-by-hour show about a fictional emergency room in Pittsburgh. Each episode covers one hour and the whole season covers a single shift. I hear it's very true to life, unlike House. Emotionally it's a balance, sometimes very heavy and sometimes lighthearted. I never found it overwhelming. If you're interested in medicine, or the medical world, definitely check it out.

Trailer Park boys season 1 to 7 is a slop that I still watch from time to time (after following the series since like 2003 and re-watching the series a good number of times).
If you like zombie slop, Fear the Walking Dead seasons 1-3 were an outstanding spinoff of the main series. The first two seasons were basically just a huge amount of character development leading up to the third season, which I maintain is among the best series of TV ever produced.
After, that contemptible wank stain Scott Gimple got his hands on the show and completely ruined it. It became like a master class on how not to write/produce a television series. Don't even bother with the rest.
