What does PR stand for in this instance?

Hot weather is a lot more comfortable than cold weather to me tbh

[-] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago

Same. I'll take 110F/43C any day over 10F/-10C. 85/35 is my happy place.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

You're mad.

20c or lower.

If it's warmer I am not liable for dripping sweat all over things.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

Naw, 75F+ is gross. 60F is the sweet spot.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

Too cold. 75°F year round is ideal. I wish I could afford San Diego.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Naw, light jacket weather is superior to shorts weather all day, everyday

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

But then you never get to enjoy the beach.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

I try to avoid the beach as much as possible. I'll take snowy mountains over the beach.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Nah. Being naked in the face of the burning sun is superior to needing clothes for comfort.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

Naw, sweating just for standing outside ain't it. I'd rather have the option to be cold outside and warmer with clothes if I choose.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

LOL 75°F isn't "warm". Nobody is going to sweat from just standing outside in 75° weather. You need 110°+ for that to happen.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

Surprisingly, different people have different tolerances for hot and cold. I'm perfectly comfortable at 60F. I've shovelled ice from a driveway in jeans and a short sleeve t-shirt more than once. 75F+ is borderline too warm. 85F+ and I avoid going outside as much as possible.

It'll only get hotter and more days in the year will reach these temperature so get used to it

[-] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

Idk, I like summer here in Poland.

[-] [email protected] 13 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Completely disagree. Summer is my favorite season and would remain so in the complete absence of PR.

This post reminds me of a friend in the ad business who told me people only think iced drinks taste better because in the early 1900s some advertising genius created a campaign to convince people of that. No, sorry, cold drinks are more refreshing. The ancient Romans thought so too, and used to haul ice down from the Alps, centuries before the advertising industry even existed.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 2 days ago

You don't need refreshing if you're not already overheated.

I only liked it because I was off. Otherwise, I've always hated summer. I used to dream of having a fall or winter vacation instead. I didn't have AC at home or at school growing up, so if I was going to be uncomfortable, just let me go back. I want to go to the zoo on a nice fall afternoon, not the second coming of Satan's asshole.

[-] [email protected] 14 points 3 days ago

It depends on where you are. Seattle summers are amazing (shhhh, don't tell anyone).

[-] [email protected] 25 points 3 days ago

Me in Seattle right now: it's too hot, it's too bright, there are too many tourists, I want the cold and rain back

I was gonna say no way to OP but you're right. If you're somewhere where it's mostly like around 100 F or higher then fuck that.

I like summer. Not when it's high heat and humidity, but I do like it being light outside after 3:30 PM.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

I can’t stand it. I can’t sleep well with the sun up. My kids don’t sleep well with the sun up. Who to I have to sacrifice to the sun to get darkness between at least 10pm and 6am? (Though preferably 9pm and 6:30, if the sun is up for negotiations.)

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

Fully agree

[-] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

Honesty there's so many adverts about sunny holidays via plane that I honestly wouldn't be shocked when oil corps turn out to pay for lots of them. Makes the heatwaves more appealing

There's only one great season. Sadly it was quite short this year, at least where I live. https://song.link/i/549480694

I fucking hate summer. It’s terrible in Florida. Not as intolerable on the west coast.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Not as intolerable on the west coast.

On the actual coast, sure. Come to the Central Valley of California, tho. Shit's basically the same as Florida except that it's not guaranteed to rain every day around 5pm. 90-100+ heat with 90-100% humidity. 😵‍💫

Winter can get in the fucking sea because it's so dark all the time. Mid to late spring is definitely best though.
