I have a lot of sympathy for these people. I think we're all a lot closer to this than we'd like to think we are.
It cost an average of $2,058 to rent a one-bedroom apartment in Ottawa in August 2023, according to listings on rentals.ca, which is up from $1,820 in August 2022 and $1,628 in August 2020.
I wonder what would be affordable for these folks? I used to live next to a rooming house that rented rooms for a couple hundred bucks a month. Is that enough?
