This is one of my favorite finds. I believe its a gold plated half of some kind of locket or pendant.
Dont get discouraged because you aren't pulling precious metals and valuable loot out of the ground most of the time. The chance is always there. Keep at it!
I believe that is a butt cap for the handle of a faux Japanese samurai sword.
