Every spring there are fewer bugs in our garden, and walking around we see signs on half our neighbors lawns warning about pesticide application. It's ridiculous that on top of the agricultural pesticide use, we even allow residential use... FOR GRASS.

The pollinator garden is coming along nicely though in our yard, and it is one of the busier ones in our area which is nice.

The irony is not lost on me of being served an all-encompassing ad about getting an MBA while I was trying to read this article. Seems our extinction clock has moved up faster than we thought.

Just copying my comment from another post about the same article:

Even in the past 3 years there has been a noticeable decline. We moved 4 years ago to where we now live. The first spring and summer the place was buzzing with insects. We actually made the entire garden much more insect friendly but last year there were noticeably less than the previous year and this year it's just dire. In april I walked around our back garden which was full with flowers and I had to stay in one spot for several minutes before I spotted the first bee. I am incredibly worried and depressed from this. It's horrifying.

Spoiler Alert: Humans will 100% destroy this planet.

Unless magic exists and we find a way to not produce waste anymore or deplete resources.

P.S. That isn't happening.
