I tried to organically reach a good ending twice so far (with Aidou and Kain) and failed spectacularly. You simply can't get one unless you savescum ;v; There's too many minigames that rely on luck to get an interaction with your LI of choice :/

Shiki: I always thought there was something different about you. You're... made of chocolate, aren't you?

Anyway, for my third run, I tried to romance Shiki and savescum this time. Shiki was an interesting case, since Toya, his female companion whos almost always at this side during the manga, got mostly written out of the story to make room for Yuki as a love interest. I got the ending! And it was kind of underwhelming! - and I unlocked a secret route? That I somehow completely missed despite using a walk-through?

So I did what any reasonable adult would do and stayed up until 4 am to check out what this route is about.

secret route spoilers and good ending CG

Being both a vampire hunter and a teacher who enters the story only in the last few chapters, Yagari's route is kind of a mess from the start. There isn't really any romantic chemistry, the pacing is abyssal, and the good ending makes no sense considering Yuki's goals. it's just kind of weird :/ At least he's handsome? Good ending CG of Toga Yagari's route, showing him taking Yuki by the hand as they leave Cross Academy.

Great CG!

If the CG does not show up in the preview thumbnail, no need to mark as NSFW, but no rule against doing that.

Thanks for the review. I have been meaning to play this as soon as I figure out how to get the English patch working.

I wonder if it is a translation thing or if the route is still that ???-inducing in Japanese. I know some Choose Your Own Adventure books can be totally nonsensical, so not out of the realm of possibility an otome game would be.

Rules

  1. Please stay on-topic: post about otome games. Otome games are romance games aimed at women who want to romance men. For the purposes of this community, games with female love interests (LIs) count as long as it isn't mostly female LIs: men should be at least half of the LI options. Note that you do not have to be a straight woman to post: people outside the target demographic play too, and you are welcome here. Amare games will be allowed given how small the community on the Fediverse is for it, and how they overlap with otome, but if the community starts to overwhelmingly have non-otome amare posts I reserve the right to change this rule and redirect those posts to a new amare community.

  2. In an effort to keep this community more discussion-based, please only post fanart and the like if you made the art yourself. Your own fanart, cosplays, etc. are very welcome.

  3. Don’t be a jerk.

    • No bigotry or discrimination. This includes but is not limited to homophobia, racism, sexism, etc.
    • Be respectful of other peoples’ tastes. You may absolutely despise an LI and want to discuss it, and that’s fine. Casting negative aspersions on or directly insulting people who love that LI is not fine. What we find interesting in fiction does not always directly translate to real-life desires.
  4. Please don’t directly link to pirated content.

  5. Tag any NSFW content as such. If you are not sure whether to tag it that way, err on the side of caution and tag.

  6. Please indicate spoilers. The following format works on both Lemmy and Kbin, but if you are using an app it may not. See this comment for which apps handle spoilers. Note that spoilers in post bodies will just show the text in the preview if you link the post in, say, Discord, instead of spoiling it.

Spoilers for OtomeGame: The GameSomething that happened at the end of the game! Something else that happened at the end of the game!

That will appear as:

Spoilers for OtomeGame: The GameSomething that happened at the end of the game!

Something else that happened at the end of the game!

7. When advertising something you have worked on (think your own otome review website, or an otome game you have worked on), please use common sense for what is spammy. If there's about four new posts here weekly, don't post a progress update weekly—we don't want self-promotion overwhelming the community. But finding new otome creators is cool, so do post them here every once in awhile! I reserve the right to change this rule to be more specific about what exactly counts as spammy and what does not, but I feel I'll know it when I see it and trust most posters to operate in good faith.

Our backup community is [email protected].

Q: Why is this needed?A: TL;DR: We have had to start over a lot due to instances dying.

  1. First, otome on Lemmy/Mbin started with Kbin, at [[email protected]](/c/[email protected]), which went down when kbin.social had federation issues and eventually went down.
  2. Then we moved to [[email protected]](/c/[email protected]), which went down when kbin.run unexpectedly vanished.
  3. So we moved again to [email protected], where we can hopefully stay. If not, we jump to…
