I'm right handed, but I keep my phone in my left pocket since I like to be able to pull out my phone to check the map or msgs while using my primary hand for another activity.

When texting, I usually use both hands but certainly can type with just my left hand.

Where do you keep your phone & why?

I'm right-handed and carry my phone in a belt pouch on my left. I take it out and hold it with my left hand while I tap or type with my right. I do all of my typing with a swype-type keyboard, so I just use my right hand for that too.

Right handed, right back pocket (front if my trousers don't have back pocket). Or more often in my handbag.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

Left handed, right pocket if I use pockets. One hand to hold and unlock, the other to primarily use the screen, left index, right thumb. Back in the day when my phone was smaller than my hand I would have it in my left, and use two thumbs if typing.

Whichever pocket doesn't conain the keys.

And the keys go in whichever pocket doesn't contain my phone.

Right

I'm a fan of keyless entry systems in my house, and nobody really uses cash here, so I can go out with nothing more than a phone

This is the dream, isn't it?

I do occasionally need ID/Credit card though, I've thought about moving them to the backpack though.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

There's no need to carry ID in my county.

In the last state I lived in, they had digital driver's licenses. My current state will get there eventually, but I have my licence in my phone case

My credit card is on my phone

It's pretty great!

I have my credit card on my phone, but not everywhere supports that here :-/

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

That's crazy to me!

I'm just waiting to install keyless entry in my house

I'm just working on the details with some of the new stuff that's out there

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

With phone becoming bigger than pocket, I have them in a backpack , waistbag or in my jacket

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Right, plus car keys.

Earbud case and home keys on the left.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Do your keys scratch your phone?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Nope, it has a protective case all around.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Wallet back right, phone back left. When I sit down, I pull it out.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Usually left back or side pocket, or in my hand, or under one leg/between my legs if I'm sitting.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Left-handed, left pocket. Just habit I guess. Right side is always keys and headphones.

For temporary stowaways around the house (especially when cooking) it can go in either of the back pockets, depending on which hand I'm holding it with.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Am I the only one that quite often leaves it at home?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Front left trouser, unless I'm on a long walk in which case shirt pocket for the radio.

Also using Gravity Screen so it can't wake up and pocket dial etc.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

I have a big screen android phone that I use mostly for games and social media apps, with a pop socket magsafed to the back because I have small hands. Goes in right pocket usually. With my keys on the rare occasion I use my car.

And I have a small screen iphone with very few apps, mostly just for taking videos and communicating with friends and family. Has a magsafe wallet on the back and goes in left pocket.

It makes me feel balanced, having a phone in each pocket. And lets me compartmentalize better.

Phone: Right back pocket.

Wallet: Left back pocket, sometimes passport.

Leatherman: Right front pocket, potentially keys. Sharp metal things mostly, nothing that can get damaged.

Utility pack/earbuds/emergency usb-c charger: Left front.

Pack has a small toolkit and some usb-cables for charging.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch. So it's on my left.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Right pocket 100%. Wallet in the back left. Unless I'm riding a bike in which case wallet in the front left.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Right pocket, being a leftie. Although i also use computers with the regular right handed setup, maybe I'm wired a little strangely.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

I switch pockets depending on what I am doing. Sometimes left, sometimes right.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Right hand, left pocket. But the left pocket of a jacket. I never keep the phone in my trousers pocket.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Is it never too warm for a jacket where you live?
Sounds awful TBH

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Bag in summer. No way I would be able to fit all things I need in summer clothes pockets anyway.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Left handed, right pocket.

Back in my days we did not have mobile phones, so keys went into the left pocket. Phone just had to take the other one when I got one.

[–] [email protected] -2 points 3 days ago

Left pocket if I've got it in my pockets. These days I usually use a smol little backpack to put all of my things into and hate having crap in my pockets.
