In case you thought these quotes may have been taken out of context, these are from a lengthy newsletter she published last year and here's the context (see another comment below for the full newsletter, it's all like this):

Light transforms into chemical bonds in the chloroplasts of plants on earth to create structure in the material world. Our human bodies emit photons from the mitochondria when we break down molecules to create energy. Molecules on planet earth that dim the mitochondria’s ability to emit light. Light controls our thoughts and biology through Circadian biology and clock genes. The future of medicine will be about light. I don’t exactly know how yet.

For humans, we know our light will re-integrate with the world and the universe at death. We are the creatures who know that we can emit more light, like stars, if we are metabolically healthy. This health allows our brains to work functionally and tap into deep intuition and spiritual guidance which can change the world for the better. But we also know we have the power to destroy the world. That is our gift and our burden. We must choose. "

If we’re appointing New Thought people to positions of high office, I’d rather have had Marianne Williamson in charge of something rather than these Fascist assholes. At least she walks the walk and actually cares about people on a deep personal level, crank or not.

Alas, there is a history of an sub-sub-culture intersection between New Thought and Fascism that goes back to WWII and before (e.g., Julius Evola, Dorothea Brande, et al.).

And of course these days we have evil cunts like Alexander Dugin using Chaos Magick concepts in his neo-Fascist writings.

It’s kinda analogous to the intersection between punk and Fascism, I guess (as in, the main subculture at first was completely antithetical to those ideals, but then the Nazis moved in and made it their own, and eventually became largely synonymous with it in the mind of the mainstream, much to the chagrin of the old guard)… But I’m not an expert, just talkin’ shit here.
