Reddit is just trying to preserve the safety of their platform for crabs that hold civilized discussion. And evidently, they don't care about attracting moths.
I think it's something called pre-emptive obedience. Those mods that stayed have made their choice. they're willing to abide by the new rules; and since some of these rules are ridiculous and confusing, they prefer to err on the side of caution.

If we know anything about evolution it's that everything will one day become crab. Reddit is just planning for the future by preemptively outlawing anti crab language.

I guess from now on I'll use my native language now that their, uh, "mods" are squeamish about "violent language".
Crabs have shells right? You should think more deeply before mentioning luigi-adjacent terms.
