This would mean the US government would own or have a stake in private corporations. Could you imagine the outrage if a Democrat tried to have the government own a private company?

I'm assuming the decisions re: where it will be invested will be made by Trump personally, so it is likely just a way to pass money from the government to his corporate sycophants. I have no hope that money would be invested in a way to benefit the people of the United States

The Democrats could never pull it off, but if I can be optimistic, maybe the Trump administration can set the stage for a future working class oriented administration to do some good work.
