Outlawing Chinese AI in the USA might seem like a "straightforward solution", but it could have unintended consequences: escalation, underground development, and missed opportunities. On a side note, wasn't this the guy that Sean O'Brien praised for being pro-worker?
Surprise surprise, those given access to the levers of power in the US are almost never pro-worker in reality.

This almost certainly will go nowhere.
According to the language of the proposed bill, people who download AI models from China could face up to 20 years in jail, a million dollar fine, or both.
