When the newly released sdl3 is installed it offers to replace sdl2 with sdl2-compat which is a compatibility wrapper around sdl3. Any experience with this wrapper? Are you a happy user? Have you run into any breakage?

Fedora Discussion Post and Fedora Mailing List Thread noting bugs with sdl2-compat. Some cases of things breaking, being fixed with patches.

Broke XIVLauncher, couldn't type in it. Fixed in SDL already so Arch should get .51 soon.

Thanks, I see that sdl2-compat-2.30.51-1 has landed in Arch since.

I found that sound was completely broken in MAME, in the extremely loud kind of way. Not a fun experience. I'd like to look into it more so that I can file a bug report, but I don't yet know where the blame lies.

Every other program that I use seems to work fine so far.

It hasn't broken gzdoom, the only thing I use sdl2 for.
