The long loading times, the lag when skipping on the timeline, and lately, blacking out my video and telling me I need to sign in because it's age restricted, even when I AM signed in, has really gotten me annoyed. I used to be able to purge in uBlock, but since they took that away, I can't seem to get YouTube working properly. I know they said it's not needed, I think, and it's sort of built in now?? However, I was always able to get around YouTube's dickiness when I had the option to purge.
