I currently have an iPhone 13 Pro and want to buy a bicycle after moving to a new city. Do you recommend a phone holder for my bike or Apple Watch for navigation purposes? I don’t own a watch yet but I can see how it would make sense on a bicycle. I just don’t know which solution is best. I probably would have to bring my phone regardless. Do you guys have any recommendations or suggestions or experience with navigating using the Apple Watch on a bicycle? I read the GPS quality on a watch can change depending on the mode. Then again I probably would bring my phone anyway and maybe the watch can use the phone gps signal.

I think a phone holder with an always on big screen that you can keep glancing at will be much better than a mini map on your wrist that you need to raise your hand and see.

Highly recommend one of the aluminum ones that have a screw and thumb wheel to tighten - the only ones that I’ve found to hold up to being bounced around

Quadlock is a really nice mount.

If you get a phone holder, don’t cheap out. Get one with anti-vibration or you may end up destroying your phone. And you can’t read a vibrating phone anyway.

After buying a cheap mount, I found I don’t use it; I use voice navigation instead, and my watch for speed and distance and rudimentary wayfinding.

Which watch model are you using? I assume you also own air pods pro?

Nope; just using either the speaker or a single around the ear cheap Bluetooth earpiece. Don’t want to block hearing whatever else is going on.

No complaints.
