It seems like the league is moving towards shorter suspensions for non-football related offenses if they don’t result in jail time (which they often won’t because money). This is pretty disappointing and I hope courts start pushing actual punishments for these players that break the law so we don’t have to rely on a corporation focused on making money to dole out the punishments.

Well I think criminal acts being punished in the courts is a pretty rational take. As far as being punished by the NFL, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect some sort of punishment on top of that. Most people would get fired from their jobs if they were filmed beating the shit out of some guy.

But my disappointment about this punishment is more about the fact that it was the only chance for Kamara to really see consequences for his actions, since the courts aren’t going to give him any jail time. I’d prefer for most of the punishment to be through the courts but that isn’t working right now.
