I'll go over these in more detail later, including things like skills and stats.

Boggarts

Boggarts are the most ubiquitous inhabitants of Eem and come in many shapes, sizes, and colors. They can be small, medium, or big folk, and are closely related to goblins, although they don't have sharp teeth or pointy noses like goblins do.

The Mucklands - the area of the setting that is fleshed out in the rulebook - is the ancestral home of the boggarts, and the whole land is full of customs and cultural practices that originated with boggarts and have since been picked up by other folk that migrated to the area.

Land of Eem doesn't bother with languages much - the Mucklands is small enough that they all speak one language - but the 'Folk tongue' spoken in the region is most certainly derived from the language the Boggarts spoke in ancient times.

Boggles

Boggles are the smaller cousins to goblins, and share their green complexion and pointy ears and noses. They are small to tiny folk. They are often employed in risky and/or thankless jobs that require them to work in small spaces, such as in dungeons and mines. Due to this treatment, boggles have strong solidarity with one another, and will nearly always do other boggles a favor.

Bogrils

Bogrils are amphibious frog folk that hail from wetlands and marshy areas. They are medium to big folk. Bogrils are a relatively rare sight in the Mucklands, as they prefer a nomadic existence out in nature instead of the cramped city living of the Dungeon Era.

Most folk's primary association with Bogrils is from legends of the Bulwarks, knights of old who upheld justice in the Mucklands. Though the Bulwarks still exist, their numbers have dwindled and they are not the powerful presence they once were.

Bugbears

Bugbears are tall, broad-shouldered, and hairy folk who hail from the mountains. They tend to be down to earth folk who enjoy hard work, 'rassling, an' a tall glass o' cider. While their overall size, coloration and build is generally reminiscent of a bear, bugbears also sport pointy ears and sharp tusks that display their (somewhat distant) relationship to other goblinkind.

Gelatinous Goos

Gelatinous goos are amorphous folk made of slime. They have no mouth, or indeed no organs at all, but they clearly have some senses akin to hearing, sight, etc. How goos manage to perceive the world is still a mystery.

Because of this difference in anatomy, Gelatinous goos cannot speak Folk Tongue, although they understand it. Instead they speak Gelatinous Gooese, a language the other Folk cannot properly speak but can learn to understand.

Goos can be small to medium sized and come in any color, although blue seems to be the most common. Goos are extremely rare in the Mucklands - to the point that there are no sizable communities of them and no real goo culture to speak of.

Gnomes

Gnomes are both a character class and a Folk, as they are the only Folk born with magic. Gnomes are extremely long-lived and see themselves as chroniclers of history and protectors of the land.

Gnomes are small, stout folk with pointy ears and tall, pointy hats. The hats play an important part of gnomish culture that is poorly understood by other Folk - but it is known that Gnomes choose hats based on their season, which reflects their identity and role in gnomish society.

While true magic - the kind the wizards of old wielded - is only available to the wisest and most studied gnomes, gnomes are constantly touched by magic in their everyday lives. Many can speak with animals, display an uncanny amount of nimbleness and luck, warm objects they touch, or create minor illusions.

Goblins

Goblins are green-skinned, pointy-nosed, and sharp-toothed cousins to Boggarts who began to live underground long ago. They see well in the dark and are generally regarded as ambitious, industrious folk. Like Boggarts, they can be small, medium, or big, and they have become a fairly common sight in the Mucklands.

Goblins are often hailed as the primary architects of the Dungeon Age, which makes them alternately revered and reviled by many. While this may be true of the upper crust of goblin society, the average goblin is just as overworked and underpaid as any other Folk.

Humans

Humans are rare in the Mucklands, and make up only a few small remote communities of hunters and farmers. While they are often seen as boring by the other Folk - humans could pass (at a glance) as particularly drab-colored boggarts if they cover their round ears - human history is actually full of legendary knights and ancient kingdoms. Unfortunately, few humans even know those legends and most have only a dim connection to their own history.

I've been enjoying Korg for a bit now and would like to find more games like it. Rules so simple I can remember them, not a ton of fiddly bits to distract me. And I always play solo. Rules and such fit on a business card. There are a could of adventures for it, which are mostly just scene specific mods to the rules and a bit of flavor text.

So I'm looking for recommendations for games similar to Korg. Please and thanks!

I just started watching it after seeing someone comment about it, and I really like it, but the show is so short that I'll probably be done by the end of the week

Does anyone have any other recommendations?

I have never actually played any ttrpg, but I got the itch now and I have to scratch it while I look for groups to actually play it

I’m the mod of the Every Post is an RPG community and just created a new game using the Everyone is John rules. If you’re looking for a short, zany quickplay come on over and create a character! Each game in the community will go for about a week or two, so it’s a perfect way to try out some new systems and stretch out your improv muscles! I look forward to playing with you ;)

Just reaching out to see if there are any Kids on Bikes players active in this community! I've been working on a tool to support play groups at my local games shop, and I thought -- why not open it up to more people?

It's 100% free, there are zero features stuck behind a paywall, ads, or other monetization and I intend to keep it that way. Full disclosure: there is a link to donate to the project, but it's out of the way and will never be shoved in anyone's face.

I am a longtime GM, and have been looking to stretch my improv muscles for a long time. I’ve had this idea percolating for awhile about making quick, micro-rpgs that get resolved in a week or so. If that sounds like your cup of tea, join in! I’ll be creating the initial games, but anyone that wants to create and GM a game is most welcome!

The first game is already up and is based on superhero parodies like The Tick. I call it: Stuperheroes!

Dungeon Crawling: dark ambiences for setting the mood for exploring labyrinths/caves/catacombs or dark forests etc.;

Crossing The Ocean: for pirate-themed adventures, or any campaign heavy on nautical/river combat; In The Village: when the group reaches a town, tavern or trading outpost, for generally pacific encounters with villagers and townspeople;

Ruins and Temples: to set the appropriate mood when in sacred places, sacerdotal houses, monuments or exploring sacred ruins, magical buildings or dealing with entities from other planes;

Heroic Fight: for epic battles against powerful dragons, mages, demons or armies, or situations that require heroism from the PCs;

Distant Places: for travels far away from the group’s places of origin, be it distant kingdoms or towns or even other planes.

NEW The Magical Forest: be it when looking for a legendary unicorn or a reclusive mage, the woods can be full of wonders… and dangers.

If you want to go really dark, try the playlist called DARK AMBIENT

Ambient Retrowave: you just landed at Gliese IV, an apparently abandoned planetoid which was a penal colony. As you explore the place, you feel that you’re being watched by someone… or something.;

Instrumental Retrowave: enemy fighters breached the outer rim, and all fighters from your brigade are launched to battle. Like a menacing swarm approaching, you see bogeys right and left that you have to engage;

Synthwave Selection: you are in the biggest space station in the quadrant, looking for your undercover contact. You have to find them first, searching in luxurious halls, rusty and half lit corridors, crowded gateways and suspect entertainment places. Bring your own oxygen though.

Eerie Sci Fi: your space freighter was boarded by a ship from unknown origin. You hear the hiss from hatches being opened. Will the newcomers see you as allies or foes… or food;

If you want to go for a space opera mood, try the one called SPACESURF

I wonder which would be better. There is 10 books from The Expanse universe + all the TTRPG sources. Coriolis has only ttrpg books. So I dont know if i could sink into its lore. There is also foundry vtt support. Here i see there is vtt module (paid) for coriolis. It is hard to choose space opera system 😅

I made a web page where you can simulate a complex dice roll sequence with conditionals (e.g. re-roll when roll is a 1) using a Python-like syntax. (Click the "Toggle Syntax" button to view examples)

It needs a second to load because it has to load a Python interpreter in the background (I'm not good at web development) but once that's done, it works really well.

It's still very barebones and I still have to work out some problems.

Maybe some of you could use it, though.

My main issue with Syrinscape is its player (app UX sucks) and i would love to use offline player not web based one. TableTone which had my hopes is all-in fantasy for now. Is there any alternative to Syrinscape for Cyberpunk/SciFi and with proper offline player? Additional points for not-subscription-based tool. I prefer to pay once for content and use it.

Each case includes the suggestion, how given beliefs or facts can be interpreted in the spirit of cosmic horror, emphasizing their appropriate elements or bending them slightly. Ben Robbins (the creator of Microscope RPG) has laid out a few problems they see in the current state of scenes and recently some ideas to tackle those perceived problems (https://arsludi.lamemage.com/index.php/3449/a-microscope-for-the-people/).

Has anyone tried these yet? How did these changes affect gameplay? Did you like the effect of those changes? And did you make any changes to dictated scenes (I'm asking this because the blog post seems to be mostly focused on acted scenes)?

This is also an opportunity to give your thoughts on the current state of scenes and what could be changed.

É possível jgr rpg solo pelo cell?? Se ss, me ensinem, pfvr... Tanto a parte mecânica, quanto como narrar. Tipo, eu n sei se eu falo sobre as rolagens de dado ou se falo como se fosse o personagem nas anotações, n sei se falo sobre girar os dados ou n, tmb n sei se posso jogar tipo como um player, usar o personagem umas horas, outras horas falar como player. E o mais importante... Quais ferramentas usar e oq eu preciso? Ficha, bloco de notas? Pdf do jogo?? Eu n sei...
