It is becoming increasingly clear to me that I need to expand my social circle. Most people I'm in a position to see in real life regularly are filled with a lot of brainworms: owning property is seen as a goal that one would be crazy not to pursue, the police and military are seen as sacred institutions, and I even know a few trumpanzees. I need to make new connections, but I'm a weird suburbanite shut-in with a weird demeanor that is offputting to normal people, and I'm worried that trying to meet new friends through my existing friends will just further entrench me into the petite bourgeois crackershpere.

How do you meet based people when you're just far enough from the nearest city for regular travel back and forth to be inconvenient and are bad at making friends in the first place?

Ironically, owning a property is really hard in capitalism, and getting increasingly harder over time. It's much better being a home owner in socialism.

Join an org or move out of the suburbs. Whichever is more accessable to you

Have you tried looking for socialist organizations that may exist in your area? Any of them, even groups like CPUSA or a DSA chapter if your in the US?

Any actvist organizations as well may work.

That's the best advice I can give really unfortunately.

There is one I could try to get in good with. I think I weirded out the PSL when I included a bunch of verbal self-flagellation for being a parasitic cracker.

Yes that would likely weird out a socialist org. Though if PSL is near by then perhaps sign up to their email list so that your updated on local action. From there you can interact with other comrades in person.

That's about all the advice I have.

I read this as "How do you meet people when you're based in a submarine?" but I've got coffee now.

I'm rural these days so I have basically given up on meeting based people. I have made some progress helping a few people I know be more based but I have also found that people who I thought might be based turned out to be social fascists.

i have it on good authority that certain colors of submarine are particularly suited to communal living
