I'm so proud of how this came out! I'm in the process of trying to turn the notes I took while making it into my first ever real pattern, so I guess lmk if you're interested in making your own Gengar ears for your headset!

I made some pot holders for my sister (hoping she'd show her friends and they'd buy some). I'd love to see what everyone else is working on!

I'm thinking about trying to sell some crocheted items to save up for my AHIMA medical billing and coding certification. I was wondering if anyone here had any advice. What kinda stuff people like to buy, things that work up quick and easy, things that are fun to make. I'll most likely be trying to sell them in small town farmers' markets in the south. I've made some coasters, trivets, and a couple little drawstring bags, but I'm not sure what people will like

I love making scarves - quick and easy!

I came across this super adorable strawberry garland in a home goods store yesterday (but not the actual Home Goods). It delights me when I run across little kits in stores where I don't expect crafting items, or at least don't expect consistency in crafting items, like close-out type stores.

Now I probably could have found a similar pattern for garland on Ravelry, but sometimes a little kit just is fun to dig into because all the necessary bits are right there. I have a work conference coming up, and I am thinking this will fit easily in a baggie to take with me to the breakout sessions.

No wip pics to share yet as it were. Just wanted to share my excitement at finding such a cute little set. 🧶

Lamia Wrap (thelemmy.club)

I kept seeing patterns and projects for Tunisian crochet, as I am new to crochet still I was hesitant to try but really wanted to give it a whirl.

I had never used wool before either before this, its quite expensive compared to acrylic, and was on the hunt for a project to combine the two.

Enter the Lamia Wrap.

I didnt need a large amount of yarn, uses just one hook, is beginner friendly, and best of all I saw myself using the finished product.

Finding the right yarn for my taste was not easy. I did not want a $60+ project to be my first attempt, I didn't want to waste or ruin anything. But I did want to try wool for the first time.

I found this sample pack with some coordinated colors I really clicked with for only $32. The yardage was right on the money and knowing my tension I figured I would need more but threw caution to the wind.

As the project moved along I realized I would definitely be short on yarn, and changed colors a bit early intentionally. I used the scrap to tie in the color themes on the final rows to get a wee bit extra length. Overall I was still about 4 rows short, and the project is a little small because of it, but I adore it regardless. I wear it a couple times a week! I also blocked it (again a first!) And that helped quite a bit.

Pls ignore the camping chair in my home. A friend left it behind since we didnt have enough seats to accomodate one day.

Wheatstitch beanie. My wool was too chunky resulting in a bulked up hat. Lesson learned.

Needs a pompom

Smoker Notions Bag (thelemmy.club)

My husband and a neighborhood friend like to alternate who's house they smoke at and my husband asked for a bag for his long gandalf pipe to safely transport it.

I found a simple no-sew coin bag tutorial and made it slightly larger to accomadate my friends pipe, tins, bubbler and such. I made this bag for the friend to iron out any mistakes during the learning process before making a bigger one for my husband. Made a few mistakes but overall still really like it!

First time making a bag and using cotton!

Tutorial I followed to make it: https://youtu.be/9sP_9TLtkqw
