Dear ‘Israelis’,

I am sure that there are more than a few among you who are excited that your rulers are at long last realizing their dream for a ‘Greater Israel’ and are working to solve the ‘Palestinian question’ once and for all. But on the contrary, none of you should be excited: your rulers may indeed exterminate nearly two million Palestinians, and they indeed may snatch up the spazio vital that their economy demands, but you’ll be next, trust me, you will be next. If the houseless Jews, Orthodox Jews, and Jews of color think that they have it hard now, they’ll look back on these days fondly by comparison.

What do you think is going to happen once your rulers run out of spazio vitale to grab? Going to war with neighboring countries may be an option, but it’s expensive and risky. Palestine appeals to your rulers precisely because it is so easy to conquer: a poorly armed and impoverished population is no match for a military. When your neocolony becomes overcrowded, your rulers will have to free up some room, and they’ll start by killing off the most vulnerable among you: houseless Jews, Orthodox Jews, Jews color, and no doubt others. Should the Palestinians in your region cease to exist, it will be necessary to invent them. What the Palestinians are suffering now is but a preview of what’s in store for you later.

You don’t need to take my word for it: look at the Ottoman Empire. The Armenians were a people whom the late Ottoman rulers demonized no less than how your rulers demonize Palestinians. The Ottoman military, and even many ordinary Ottomans, took part in the horrific destruction of hundreds of thousands of Armenians in a scale that would remain unsurpassed until the Shoah. Among the Ottomans, many Kurds eagerly took part in the populicide, and they could bask in the spoils of war for the time being… but look at what the Turkish government did to them later.

The fates that befell the Armenians and the Turkish Kurds, is the same that may well befall the Palestinians, and it is the same one that will befall you for as long as you continue to overlook or support your ruling class. If history has not convinced you, look at the present and how willing your régime is to sacrifice Jewish hostages in its quest for spazio vitale. At the end of the day, you are worthless to your rulers. So my warning to the average citizen of “Israel” is this: you may bask in your régime’s bloody victory and its spoils for a while, but your turn will come in due time. As the old saying goes,

‘First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out, because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out, because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out for me.’
