For the last year I have focused on strength training, did kettlebells for a few months and eventually got some 80lb adjustable dumbbells. I'm currently on week 18 of a 20 week program, lifting 6 days a week, and feeling extremely stronk.

It's warm where I live and only going to get warmer, and for the next year I want to start focusing on cardio and endurance training, lifting 3-4 days a week, and continue losing weight.

Got a stationary bike for $50 from FB marketplace, and found a 2010 Fuji road bike in excellent condition. Bought it for a song, fixed up what I could, and now it's at the bike shop to fix some of the stuff I can get justify purchasing tools to fix myself. It's stuck there till Friday, but I'm still riding the stationary bike every day but leg days (cuz them shits are gnarly).

Any other bike enthusiasts in here? Im looking for any and all advice for new riders. Also, I live in city with deeply carbrained, bike-averse infrastructure. What are the best ways to stay safe on the road?

I've been using it to track my nutrition and it's actually a decent app. Well the functionality is. I hate the fact that it's not Android native as certain things are harder than they need to be, like editing text. But the underlying service is fantastic. I don't see ads as they're blocked at the network level, but I really want the ability to export reports to PDF rather than having to screenshot everything and stitch those together manually.

Anyone using it? Is it worth it?

I have been working out for about 7 months, and sure, I can lift more, my arms are a little bigger, my neck is a little thicker but no one ever told me how thick my ass would get.

I was completely flat 7 months ago. Now the clap of my ass cheeks keeps startling my dog.

Holy hell chairs are comfortable now, assuming they can withstand the weight of my dump truck. Every run is now resistance training because I'm dragging a wagon behind me. Jesus, trying to put on pants has me looking like a post on thechive.com from 2006.

Obviously I'm exaggerating but the fact that this is the most obvious change on my body is wild.

I am able to activate my glutes during air squats but can't achieve the same thing when performing front squats with dumbbells. I notice that the day after air squats my glutes are sore, but I barely feel any soreness with weights. There's something about being loaded with weights that I find makes it more challenging to activate the glutes.

Does this belong in fitness? I skimmed the article and it sounds like major woo woo but I'm sure foot piggies will be happy!

After three years of spending the whole day sitting and eating, I'm back at the gym since yesterday, and I plan on going 5 days a week for a while, lest I have a heart attack.

I've thought of doing a diary-like thread to give myself some sort of responsibility tied to exercising, and maybe getting someone else in the mood for joining me.

I'll post a thread a week, and you can "check-in" with whether or not you did any exercise today.

Did you exercise today? Tell us about it and let's get moving 💪😎🤳
