MLK also said without extremists like Malcolm, the civil rights movement would have taken decades longer...
Mostly due to "moderates" and religious leaders who acknowledged there was a problem, but refused for decades to address it.
Ignoring problems doesn't solve them. And when it's about human rights, we can't as a society kick the can down the road for decades.
Just look at how the LGBT community is treated today.
I think the church needs to learn how to love people no matter whether they agree with their life styles.
Jesus certainly taught that by example in his life.
