I've said it before here and I'll say it again, I honestly think people on the right are far more self aware than we think. They know this is bullshit, but subconsciously, or maybe even consciously idk, they think "but Trump winning means more power and goodies for me and people I dislike will be owned!" So they all lie about how they think he's actually cool to an audience of people who also know they're lying, but they have the same thought bouncing around their head so they repeat the lie to strengthen the narrative around Trump.
