    It's reverent to the various source materials, written/produced by fans, and maintains the spirit of starfleet while taking the piss.

    It helps, I spose, that they have a huge well of "history" to mine for relevant content. they use it so perfectly.

    and the swearing. ha, it's stupid but makes them so relatable... real

    I used to be a big fan of the gilmore girls because they spoke so fast.. it's gg in space!
