They promised to reply to it with "roll for persuasion or intimidation" if they got 10k upvotes, and here is the result. Outstanding move.
I subscribed to Reddit premium before the whole clusterfuck. If you're on Premium you might have a big pool of coins to spend on awards even after you cancel it.
I actually like awards a lot. I think it's an especially reasonable idea as a tip jar for the people running an instance. I'd be happy to give a small recurring contribution to instances I like, and if it gave me the ability to identify things I really like I'd consider that gravy.
