First off, sorry if this has been asked before - I couldn't find any option to search while looking at the community, but is saving images from posts not possible at all, and if not is it on the horizon?

I really like to look at cats, so saving cat photos is kind of a big deal to me.

Oh, also, is there a way to open a link in an external browser when you've first opened it in the internal one?

I see a save button on the top right after expanding the image.

I see it too but sadly it just sits there, looking menacingly, without doing anything.

Works flawlessly for me. Both saving and sharing images.

Are you on the latest version?

Better question, has the storage permission been denied?

Aaah, thank you! I apparently installed it from... somewhere, so it showed up in the play store as installed with no updates pending. Just did a fresh install and it works flawlessly.

I feel like such a dunce now.
