That’s Verizon FiOS and it looks like it’s in NYC. They usually leave just the Duraline micro-duct with a pull string and when (and if) the apartment unit subscribes to FiOS they send the fiber tech to pull the fiber (usually Cleerline SSF) and terminate. In this case they chose to pull the fiber at early stages, which is a good thing. Reason is that the micro-duct kinks easily and then forget about pulling anything through a kinked duct. By pulling the fiber now they still have time to remediate if they noticed a bad micro-duct.

They started prewiring in recent years. FiOS was deployed in my old apartment in Virginia 2019 and they prewire the microducts to EACH UNIT before the service is ACTUALYY AVAILABLE TO ORDER.

I thought it was to save time on installation, but I’m not complaining because it’s DEFINITELY more streamline
