The BBC has admitted that an interview with a lecturer at Gaza’s Islamic University who claimed the Hamas attacks on Israel were “the same” as the Warsaw Ghetto uprising should not have been aired.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews complained about the interview with Refaat Alareer, titled on-screen as a “Palestinian educator”, broadcast on Saturday on the BBC News channel.

Arguing that the attacks by what he termed “the Palestinian resistance” were “legitimate and moral”, Alareer went on to say the killings were “exactly like the Warsaw ghetto uprising”, referencing the battle fought by the Jewish resistance when the Nazis tried to “liquidate” the Polish city’s ghetto in 1943.

In otherwords, we can't compare them because how dare you conflate the Nazi killings of Jews to Jews killing Palestinians.

Idk what it is about England, but their political machine is just constantly churning out lies to bolster their aggressive conflation of antizionism with antisemitism. They're still fucking harping on Roger Waters comparing the plight of Holocaust victims to the plight of Palestinians as "mocking Anne Frank"

Not to mention that they'll still lie about Corbyn through their fangs

Horrific, but I'm not in much of a position to talk. I think the reason why I don't see as much of that conflation in the US (we seem to just emphasize the violence) is that we have more people who think of themselves as 'righteous' antisemites. Those fuckers still love Israel while they hate Jews and think they somehow run the world, of course. Dispensationalism go brrr

  1. Link titles: Please use informative link titles. Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed.

  2. Content warnings: Posts on the newscomm and top-level replies on the newsmega should use content warnings appropriately. Please be thoughtful about wording and triggers when describing awful things in post titles.

We encourage the community to balance their contribution of low effort material with effort posts, links to real news/analysis, and meaningful engagement with material posted in the community.

  7. American politics: Discussion and effort posts on the (potential) material impacts of American electoral politics is welcome, but the never-ending circus of American Politics© Brought to You by Mountain Dew™ is not welcome. This refers to polling, pundit reactions, electoral horse races, rumors of who might run, etc.

  8. Electoralism: Please try to avoid struggle sessions about the value of voting/taking part in the electoral system in the West. c/electoralism is right over there.
