Need to stop China. They are making 30+% of the entire world's carbon output and no plans to reduce that for another 7 years.

That's more than the next 6 biggest carbon polluters combined.

Know how to stop China? Stop buying stuff made in China. All we, the west, are doing is outsourcing our carbon pollution to China.

Should the rest of the world refuse to do anything until China curbs their emissions?

Let's be honest, we are all fucked no matter how much we work towards reducing, it's already too late.

The real question is how hard do we want to fuck ourselves?

It's not already too late, but it's gonna get worse. Even if we magically went 100% renewable energy right now, we would still have all that carbon in the air.

There was going to be an initial test in Sweden on putting Sulphur dioxide in the stratosphere but public outcry made them call it off. SO2 bounces some sunlight before it gets trapped on earth. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0040609009000169 this would be a temp bandaid to buy sometime, but unless every person on earth started planting trees and making charcoal to dump back into the ground I don't see a good way to sequester at a global scale.

Thanks for dropping the facts comrade. It's hard for some people to understand that having 1.4 billion people means you can't compare apples to apples with USA or Europe. China is by far working the hardest on lowering their carbon footprint.

And yes, I'm considering the SocDems in Europe, those people don't use a lot of energy because they produce nothing. If their overseas manufacturing plants produce carbon, it's not part of their footprint, on paper. China produces many things, their footprint matters to many countries.

Bro China is one of the greatest contributors to renewable energy 💀
