Didn't really notice the misogyny or leering at underage girls at the time
Also his writing is just garbage even ignoring the problematic content
In my defence i was 14 so thirsting after a 14 year old girl wasnt that bad. But yhea he is an outspoken pervert.
But while he does write a lot garbage i think he is somtiemes a genuinley good writer. For example his hassan retelling does a good job of preserving the fariy tale quality, something that even good writers fail at, for example firebird by lackey fails at this. And even in the elric saga only the first book manages to preserve this style.
Anthony also has some creative ideas. Like the society of telepatic horses that enslave humans. But they borrow the intelligence of their human hosts, otherwise they are just as smart as a horse.
The only one I've gone back to as an adult was the first in the Incarnations of Immortality series, which I loved as a kid, and honestly it was so bad I couldn't finish it.

True, but taken as a comedy it's worth the read for the male unicorns peacocking for the female unicorns by leaping into the air and plunging their horns into the ground, then balancing on them for as long as they could.
Or Piers' incredibly specific fetishes that show through like when the protagonist is taking a shit in the woods and a harpy shows up and he has to try to run away with his pants around his ankles and a doodoo ass while she's shouting abuse at him.
