We have some people living with us downstairs. One of them found a dog on the road that didn't belong to anyone, had a bad leg, and was literally stopping traffic by just lying in the middle of the road.

They took her in to try and get her into a shelter ( no one in the house has the funds or means to take care of this dog right now), and holy shit, it's been a fucking shit show ever since.

Few people returned this person's call, we got ghosted for a pickup, and now that my wife and this person has taken this dog to the shelter themselves, they are being forced to wait to see if they have room.

We are actively being punished for trying to do right by society and this dog.

And I can feel myself getting angry at the person downstairs, and that pisses me off even more ironically. This person did nothing wrong and was trying to help. Thankfully, I have the emotional maturity to ride the wave and be rational, but this is how people turn into jackasses in this country. Most people do not have the emotional maturity to not blame the wrong person.

And this is just ONE FUCKING THING; it doesn't matter what it is you try to do in this hellscape of a country; it's a whole fucking thing. Unless you are stealing money from poor people, there is so much shit that actively works against you trying to do good things for people, animals, and the environment. Hell, you can be sent to prison if you try to do a good thing and get caught (see anti-panhandling laws etc)

And I'm supposed to be excited about "woke 3.0"??? fuck off and fuck everything about this.
