Feel bad for all the young people that got roped into the private jet by this rich asshole

I've never heard anything so haunting in my life. Loss of someone who was clearly very accomplished. Flying jets at 20 years old is virtually unheard of. Hell at 22 I was still flying clapped out pistons on air tours. Didn't touch a jet until I was 26. I remember being young and chasing that airline job and being over the moon when I finally got it. I can't stop thinking about the entire life she had ahead of her.

I believe the captain can be heard reciting the Lord's prayer in the background.

Do you have any ideas what went wrong? Seems like either some kind of catastrophic malfunction or a really bad pilot error but I'm no aviation expert, the way they went down was horrible.

We can’t know for sure right now. My guess is icing, probably from supercooled large droplets, causing a tailplane stall, resulting in an overspeed condition which, combined with updrafts and downdrafts within the storm, takes off the horizontal stabilizer at which point it’s unrecoverable.

Icing can build up scary fast. If this is what happened, the pilot error in question is flying into towering CB. You need to give those storms a wide berth, at least 20 miles.
