... No still vote blue, El-Sayed appears to be a decent guy. She lost the primary and clearly it was a good thing she lost.

Yeah, I don't understand why they're trolling this particular subject so hard. They posted similar sentiment on another post about an adjacent subject.

Like, she lost the primary already, she sucks, we get it. The guy on the docket is much better, and is repping Dem.

Interpreted more charitably than it deserves, I suppose this is pointing out how "vote blue no matter who" was always a cudgel of liberal hypocrisy they never intended to apply in reverse. (Which didn't stop it from being a real optimum in terms of political game theory, BTW.)

Of course, we already knew that: posting it here on Lemmy is just preaching to the choir and not the audience who needs to hear it.

Yeah, gosh. This one seems more targeted to "vote blue no matter who" than the last one. I guess this person really is trolling to try to undermine votes for El-Sayed. Or, of course, they're welcome to break character and clarify.

Or you could check their post history: when it comes to Republican hypocrisy they are being sarcastic, not supportive. This person does this on a lot of political threads and almost every Epstein-related thread. I enjoy seeing them personally, but a lot of folks don't appreciate it.

Read it again in that light and see how it comes off. Maybe I'll stand corrected, but I have yet to see one that didn't work as sarcasm with added hyperbole.

Oh, no, I'm well aware of the novelty account. I clocked that sarcasm the first post of theirs I saw, they make it very hard to miss. The issue is not whooooshing the sarcasm, it's that it's sometimes very unclear what exactly is the target or point of the sarcasm.

Since this is very similar to another comment, here's what I said in response to it a few hours ago: https://lemmy.world/post/53864530/26633335

I have nothing against the user and have upvoted them in the past. The weird focus on "vote blue no matter who" re: someone who isn't even on a ballot just doesn't make much sense, sarcasm or no.

Check out their post history. It's satire.
