Like it's amazing, I needed my tooth out because it was infected, the doctor told me straight up to do a root canal I'd need to be forwarded to an oral surgeon and then it costs $3 grand and then it's only good for about 4-5 years. So we decided on pulling the tooth, the roots of the other tooth that I had that fell out, and treating the infection with medicine.

If I didn't have medicaid I'd be super boned. Now with that said, modern dentistry is amazing, he shot me up on both sides of my mouth and in 10 min he extracted the tooth and the roots. EVERYONE should have access to this, it's a human right!!

Health insurance was originally a product offered directly by hospitals and so never included dental care since, for historic reasons, hospitals never offered it apart from emergency tooth extraction. It's basically a random coincidence of history that we've made a cornerstone of our healthcare structure because, as it turns out, it benefits capitalists to exclude vast categories of care for any pretext.

It's like if insurance covered disorders of the yellow humor but not the black humor.
