this is too broad of a claim. some anarchist tendencies have idealist elements, some are explicitly materialist. the most influential practical expressions of anarchism have been entirely grounded in material organizing. they had plenty of their own issues and shortcomings, but all revolutionary states are going to while under siege from capitalism. siege shapes the besieged.
