Some restaurants web ordering through their website is like 20 % - 30% cheaper in my experience. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 3 child comments replies: [–] ironhydroxide@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago* (1 child) I tried this for a while.... Then the restaurants I was getting from started sending orders with doorDash/uberEats drivers anyways..... And always were much slower and worse service than direct. I no longer order delivery because they all ended up going that route. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] Knoxvomica@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago Sorry to hear that. Seems short sighted on their end. permalink fedilink source parent [–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 1 point 2 days ago But that move isn't on the board for these delivery drivers. permalink fedilink source parent [–] siftmama@lemmy.world 1 point 2 days ago Maybe. Unfortunately the few attempts I've heard of where the company tries to be fairer to all parties causes the company to go bust because it isn't sustainable. So the alternative isn't another app, it's to just not be lazy and go into the restaurant. permalink fedilink source parent
