gouache on paper

perhaps one day when my skill matches my imagination i will repaint it with oils

a lady wearing a purple coat and carrying a purse and golden fruit is walking away from a giant figure whose fists are resting on the desert ground the lady looks ahead with a slight smile whereas the giant's gaze is turned away

thank you for your insights

this is traditional gouache - i'm very fond of its versatility and flat colour and the reactivation makes sense to me coming from ink and watercolour

still oils are very interesting and i plan to do some studies this weekend

That makes a lot of sense - some favour acrylic gouache for the opposite reason - its ability to quickly form permanent waterproof independent layers, which won't blend afterwards. Depends strongly on the style of work, of course.

Do feel free to share studies and tests - I don't think the community is strict about it being finished work only - and it would be nice if there was a little more discussion on here, as well as showing new works.
