As a kid I wanted to be a doctor, veterinarian, or anthropologist with a countryside home and sporty car. Now I do eco-Marxist urbanism and want an urban homestead with a few livestock pets and a cargo bike. The pay is a third of what I wanted to earn but I measure my success by my gardens and how they change my city. Everything has been conditioned by climate change and economic collapse, so my goals are realigned to be a comfortable solarpunk life. By 2050 a really optimistic goal is being able to still drink a weekly coffee I grow myself.
